High Court's Key Directives On Amaravati Padayatra!
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Oct 2022 1:11 PM GMTThe Amaravti farmers are fighting many odds in the massive yatra in seeing that Amaravati remains the sole capital of the state. At regular intervals, they are facing a lot of issues. Recently the farmers were reportedly attacked after water bottles were hurled at them.
Considering the recent attack, a petition was filed in the High Court by Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi alleging that obstacles were created for the yatra which is being carried out peacefully. The lunch motion petition was filed in the High Court and the court heard the petition.
During the hearing, the High Court made some key comments and issued directives that only 600 farmers should participate in the yatra. Having said that, the court directed the Amaravati farmers to follow the limit given on the limit of the presence of people in the yatra. The cops were asked to take action if the limit exceeds, reports said.
The lawyer representing the Andhra Pradesh government told the High Court that the farmers are provoking the leaders and behaving provokingly. The lawyer also told the court that the Amaravati farmers are not following the limit of 600 persons and thousands of people are participating in the yatra.
Countering the claims of the government's lawyer, the farmers' side lawyer told the court that common people are supporting them and standing in solidarity with the farmers and asked how they can stop them from supporting the farmers. The lawyer said that YCP leaders are provoking the Amaravati farmers by calling them paid artists.
