Will HC Order put breaks to demolitions in GHMC?
X
Hyderabad High Court ordered GHMC to demolish the illegal structures in the city only after issuing notices to the owners and receiving a reply from them. A stay was issued on demolition of 25 illegal structures built encroaching nalas.

Owners moved lunch motion in High Court alleging State Government has been demolishing the structures inspite of showing the authorities necessary permissions and approvals they obtained. While some of the residents complained no prior notice was issued to them before demolition, rest of them said they were asked to vacate the houses within 24 hours. They alleged TRS Government has violated GHMC Act which recommends prior notice to the owner of a structure if it was built against the norms.

Justice MS Ramachandra Rao clearly mentioned that the interim stay on demolition is applicable to only these 25 structures of the petitions.

Although there is no problem for continuing demolitions in other areas for now, What if petitions were filed by owners of illegal structures in other areas as well? TRS Govt might be aware of this possible threat!
