Nampally court on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants against TDP central minister Y.S. Chowdary in a case filed by a Mauritius-based bank for alleged default of repayment of loan. Sujana has approached the high court challenging the decision and asked to strike down the case filed against him by the Mauritian commercial bank and to set aside the non-bailable arrest.

Sujana said he had full respect for the judiciary and denied that he deliberately avoided appearing in the court.Chowdary said he could not appear due to pressing engagements and urgent work.

After considering the petition, the High Court on Tuesday directed the minister to present himself in Nampally court on May 5.The High Court also posted the hearing on the minister's petition to June 16.

Sujana Chowdary, who is an industrialist, and others have been accused of defaulting in repayment of loan in excess of Rs.106 crore.The loan was taken for Mauritius-based Hestia Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Chowdary's Sujana Universal Industries Ltd.
