High Court Serves Notices To Telangana Government On Ordinance

In a super jolt to the Telangana Government, High Court served notices to the state government over the ordinance brought forth by the government to defer the payment of 50 percent salaries and pension to government employees and pensioners.

The latest development, in this case, came after Raman Goud, a retired Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) moving the High Court challenging the ordinance put forth by the government.

After hearing the arguments of the petitioner who termed the ordinance as Unconstitutional served notices to the government and gave three weeks time to issue a clarification on the ordinance.

The state government put forth Telangana Disaster and Public Health Ordinance Emergency (Special Provisions) Ordinance, 2020 to defer the payments by 50 percent and the ordinance was disseminated by Governor Tamilisai. The ordinance came into force from the 24th of March with retrospective effect.

On the other hand, the High Court did not agree to the postponement of PG Medical and Dental examinations and gave its nod to go ahead with the examinations as per the schedule.

Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) asserted that students who pass the examinations in Supplementary exams will also be recognized as regular students.
