Breaking: AP reports 5,041 Fresh Cases In 24 Hours

The fresh infections of the ongoing pandemic continues to surge in Andhra Pradesh as a record 5,041 fresh cases were reported in the past 24 hours which takes the count of cases to 49,650.
This is the highest spike on single-day cases so far. The previous record was 3,963 cases reported yesterday. 56 casualties were reported today and the total fatalities mounted to 642.
The health bulletin issued by the health department stated that, a total of 31,148 samples were tested for the pandemic and 5041 persons were found positive for the contagious disease. As of today, a total of 13,15,532 samples were tested for the virus in the state.
On the other hand, 22,890 people managed to recover from the virus, while the active cases in the state stood at 26,118.
Out of the fresh cases, West Godavari, Guntur, Kurnool and Nellore turned out as the hotspots for the virus and these districts account for around 70% of the total cases.
