Highest Surge Of Single-Day Cases Globally

In what it could be a shocker, more than one lakh positive cases of the virus were reported globally in the past 24 hours. This is the highest surge of cases in the world ever since the pandemic hit the world.
In the last 24 hours, the countries reported 106,000 positive cases and what's even shocking is that only four nations have reported two-thirds of the total reported cases.
With the newly reported cases, the total positive cases of the virus globally surpassed the 5.08 million mark. To date, 1.94 Million patients managed to recover from the virus, while as much as 3.32 lakhs succumbed to the virus.
The United States tops the list with the most number of positive cases with 1.61 Million, while Russia(3.18 lakh), Brazil(3.10 Lakh), UK(2.51 Lakh), Spain(2.33 Lakh).On the other hand, Russia witnessed 8849 fresh cases of the virus in the past 24 hours.
The positive cases of the virus in India are also increasing rapidly as the total toll reached 1,18,447 which makes India the 12th worst-hit nation in the world in terms of the positive cases.
