C Devi, a transgender, will be contesting the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa from the RK Nagar constituency on Naam Tamilar Katchi ticket.

The 33-Year-Old pledges to strive for sweating away parties like AIADMK, DMK and Congress from Tamil Nadu. She claims to be as worthy to be addressed 'Amma' as the CM Jayalalithaa.

Taking a dig at Jaya's claim that she don't have a family of her own, Devi says her case is no different and there is no one to support her since her birth. She reveals the trust being run by her takes care of under-privileged children and elderly people. She wishes to fight for the upliftment of her community.

Even if she loses the polls, Devi would be more than happy if what she has done brings a change in how political parties treat her community. She questions, 'Why men and women alone decide the fate of the country. What about the transgenders?'.
