Hindupur YSRCP leaders attack each other
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Jun 2022 5:36 AM GMTThe ruling YSRCP, it appears, is in a self-destruction mode in Anantapur district. The party has divided itself into groups and the groups are fighting against one another. Physical abuse, stone pelting, hurling of invectives and slogan shouting- all these elements have turned the party into a potboiler Quite interestingly, the party's top leadership has not done anything so far to bring the situation under control.
The crisis began when YSRCP former coordinator Ch Ramakrishna Reddy and Hindupur MPP Ratnamma threatened to expose the corrupt deeds of MLC Iqbal. On Friday, Ratnamma again tried to address a press meet. On knowing this, the supporters of the MLC gathered in large numbers and tried to obstruct the press meet.
Later, he supporter Irshad was thrashed by the MLC's henchmen. Irshad could be rescued only due to the intervention of the police. In retaliation, 18 councillors of Hindupur, senior leader Venugopal Reddy, municipal vice chairperson Balaram Reddy and others came to the press club to oppose the attacks. However, the MLC's supporters pelted stones and attacked them. Both the groups fought pitched battles.
The situation is now tense in Hindupur with both the groups preparing to attack one another. The YSRCP is divided into pro and anti MLC group. Meanwhile, the party higher ups, including Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, have done nothing so far to bring the situation under control.
