Telangana is not just the 29th state in the country. The state has a rich history and we can find many historic sites and places. Earlier, the iconic Ramappa temple was added to the list of world heritage sites of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO).

Now another place was added to the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Citie's (GNLC) list after the Warangal city which served as the capital of many dynasties was added to the list. On social media, UNESCO announced the same with a tweet.

UNESCO lists a place in the Learning City which would foster the culture of learning throughout life. Not just that, the city should also promote all the sectors including education from basic education to higher education. Besides this, the city should also facilitate learning.

It is a proud moment for the state and the region as two places were listed in the UNESCO Learning cities from the Warangal region. Places with rich culture and resources would be added to the list.

After UNESCO announced Warangal as the Learning City, the BJP leaders like Union Cabinet Minister Kishan Reddy and chief of Telangana for BJP Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed their happiness and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for focusing on sites that have the cultural heritage to have a place in the UNESCO sites.
