AP: Home Minister Sucharita attends the funeral of Jawan Jaswanth held at Bapatla
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 July 2021 9:56 AM GMT23-year-old Army man Maruprolu Jaswanth Reddy, who hails from Bapatla mandal of Andhra Pradesh had made the ultimate sacrifice to save the motherland at the border and got martyred.
The funeral of the young Jawan was held in Bapatla. On the behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government, Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita attended the funeral and handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Jaswanth Reddy's family as announced by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy earlier.
The Home Minister assured that the government will take care of Jawan's family, who sacrificed his life for the country, and said, one of the brothers of Jaswanth will be given a government job.
The Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Kona Raghupathi, district Collector Vivek Yadav, SP Vishal Gunni have also attended the last rites of the Jawan. They paid last tributes to the young Jawan Jaswanth Reddy, who was martyred at the fire exchange.
His funeral was held in the Dariwada Kothapalem village of Bapatla. Jaswanth Reddy's last rites were held with full Military Honours. His family members and villagers took part in his last journey.
The young Army jawan breathed his last in the fire exchange at the Daddal village in the Sunderbani sector with the militants. He killed four militants and got martyred in the shooting.
At a very young age, he was selected to the 17 Madras Regiment of the Army in 2016 and was posted at the Nilagiri. Later, he was transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir area at the border.
Jaswanth Reddy's family was left in deep sorrow and shock after they were informed about the sad news. He was martyred at the border when his family members and relatives wanted to get him married.
After being informed that his son was martyred, Jaswanth's mother Venkateswaramma, father Srinivas Reddy and other family members were extremely shocked.
State Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita have condoled the death of the young Jawan. CM Jagan announced Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia for the kin of the Jawan.
