Horrible Situations Of Jails In Telangana

The Samata case has not only resulted in outrage and protests in the Asifabad region but also explored the poor conditions of the Telangana jails. Though Telangana is a developed state, the jails in the state are in a state that most of them don't even have gallows.
After the Special track court issued a death warrant to the culprits in Samata's case, the situation of the Telangana jails stole the limelight. The last time a death sentence executed in Mushirabad Central jail was way back in 1978 in the combined AP state.
Telangana is the only state in the country that has no gallows in the jail to execute the death sentence. The last time where wide debate happened on the situation of the jails in the state was when the infamous twin blasts took place in Hyderabad way back in August 2007.
The jail manuals state that the prisoners who were awarded death sentences should be hanged in the same state. There is a great need for establishing gallows in the state jails.
Other than Musheerabad Rajahmundy central jail is the jail where death sentences will be executed in the Telugu states. Till now 42 death sentences were executed out of 94 death warrants which were ordered post-independence.
