How A Constable Beat A DGP In Political Game?
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Oct 2020 3:44 AM GMTUsually, when a constable meets the DGP, he will always be a picture perfect humility and submission. It is only very rarely that the constable wins and DGP loss. But, this rarity has happened in poll-bound Bihar.
In Bihar's Buxor assembly constituency, Gupteshwar Pandey, who till recently was Bihar's DGP, wanted the JDU ticket. He had in fact resigned from the DGP post to fight the elections. But, when he had applied for the Buxor ticket, he already has a competition. The competitor in this case is Parashuram Chaturvedi. And Chaturvedi is no stranger to Pandey. He was a constable in the police department.
In this fight for the ticket, the constable won and the DGP lost. The JDU gave ticket to Chaturvedi leaving Panday, who left police job for politics, in the lurch. Of course, Pandey graciously congratulated Chaturvedi and felt that the political calculations were not in his favour.
Interestingly, another former DGP Sunil Kumar, however, was successful in grabbing a ticket to contest from Bhore assembly constituency in the district.
