The district renaming episode brought a lot of attention to the Konaseema region. Rising objections to the Andhra Pradesh government's decision to name Konaseema as Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, a few organizations created havoc in Amalapuram and set a few properties on fire.
After tension gripped the region with the protestors setting the residences of leaders on fire, the authorities have shut down the internet services in the region so that no unwanted situations take solace in the region yet again. After the internet supply was cut the situation came under control.
But the internet shutdown has been continuing as a precautionary measure. But the decision gave a big blow to the private employees and software employees who are working from home in the region. The employees are facing the wrath of the decision to cut down the power supply.
