How Jana Sena, Bjp Outsmarted Tdp In Badvel Bypoll?
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Oct 2021 1:22 PM GMTHow the TDP fell into the trap of the Jana Sena and the BJP is the biggest story these days. The TDP naively walked into the trap set by both the BJP and the Jana Sena in the Badvel bypoll. Now both the Jana Sena and the BJP have castled the TDP like never before.
The bypoll in Badvel of Kadapa district was necessitated because of the sudden demise of sitting MLA Venkata Subbaiah. The YSRCP decided to give the ticket to his wife Dasari Sudha. The TDP, which was badly mauled by the YSRCP in panchayat, MPTC, ZPTC and the Tirupati bypoll, wanted to put up a fight and has even announced Obulapuram Rajasekhar as its candidate. In fact, Rajasekhar began preparing for the bypoll.
Meanwhile, the Jana Sena announced that he would honour the convention of not putting up a candidate if the kin of a sitting MLA is fighting the bypoll caused by the MLA's death. The TDP followed suit and announced that it too would honour the convention. It said that it would not fight the bypolls. Suddenly, the BJP entered the fray and said that it would put up the candidate. No sooner did the BJP put up a candidate, the Jana Sena said it would campaign for the party.
As a result, the TDP lost a chance to take on the YSRCP. Jana Sena and BJP will fight together and get all anti-YSRCP votes. Though the BJP may not win, it would end up getting more votes. The TDP would be seen as a party that does not have the will to take on the YSRCP. Also, the pro-TDP media's chatter of a possible alliance with between the TDP and the Jana Sena too would be proved wrong. The end loser in all this is the TDP.
