How Modi Removed Article 370 and 35 A?
X
We have seen print media write incoherently and electronic media blubber confusingly on Kashmiri issue. Each media house wrote its own incomplete stories and ended up piling confusion over confusion. The Telugu media have not only failed to tell the story, but then ended up confusing more.

Here's the real story of what happened in Kashmir. JK was given special status during its accession. Due to this, the state got preferential treatment. There was resentment due to this among other states. The special status stemmed from Article 370. Gradually, the minority appeasement policies of various political parties, even talking about article 370 became tantamount to targeting the Muslims. Talking about minority Hindu pundits became an offence. Gradually talking about Kashmir came to be seen as anti-Muslim. Even when three lakh Hindus were driven out of Kashmir, no one talked about them because talking about them was seen as anti-Muslim. Even the Media played the minority appeasement card and remained silent when Hindus were butchered.

So ...what did Modi do?

In Kashmir, hoisting the Tricolour was impossible. Nothing could be done even when Indian national flag was insulted. So, Modi decided to change this. He changed the provisions of the Article 370. Now the aspects of 370, which were against India were removed. He ensured that the act becomes a toothless tiger, which can neither roar nor bite.

What will happen now?

1)Kashmir will no longer have special status. It is like any other state in the county.

2)Till now if a Pakistani girl marries a Pakistani, she will remain a Kashmiri and enjoy all the rights. If she marries someone from India, she loses all her rights. Now, this obnoxious provision is gone.

3)Non-Kashmiris can now buy lands in J and K. All the curbs will go.

4)The Assembly would for a duration of five years. Till now it was for six years. Kashmir will no longer have a separate flag. Indian Tricolour will become its flag. Panchayats will now become powerful. Right to Education will now be applicable to J andK also.

5)Financial emergency and and Right to Information will now be applicable in J and K.

All this became possible what with Union Home Minister Amit Shah's announcement of abrogating Article 370. In another sensational incident, Ladah has been made a union territory. JK too has become a union territory.

The next big thing is that there is going to be a fresh delimitation of the assembly constituencies in J and K. The 83 seats in J and K will now be made into 114 constituencies.
