How Politics are Revolving Around Hanuman Chalisa in Maharashtra?

The politics in India are now revolving around religions. The ongoing developments raise a new doubt about where we are heading as a nation. Earlier, there were issues like Hijab and Loudspeakers playing Azan in mosques increasing the political heat in the nation. Many places saw intense protests due to this.

Now Hanuman Chalisa is increasing the political heat. The Maratha land Maharashtra had already emerged as a political pot. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray who earlier condemned the usage of loudspeakers in mosques gave a call to play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers. Following this, Nashik police commissioner Deepak Pandey said that no bhajans will be allowed near the mosque.

The Hanuman Chalisa row is getting only bigger and bigger with each passing day. Actress-turned-politician Navneet Rana, who is an MP from Maharashtra said that she and her husband will recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's residence, Matoshree.

Following this, the MP and her husband Ravi Rana, MLA are believed to have been arrested by the cops. As a case was filed against the couple on the grounds of decision charges, they were produced before the court and the court served them judicial custody for 14 days. Their lawyers are trying their best to secure a bail for them.

The very foundation of Shiv Sena is Pro-Maratha ideology and pro-Hindu ideology. When Shiv Sena was led by Bal Keshav Thackeray, the party flaunted its Hindu ideology and celebrated festivals like the birthday of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. But things have changed for the party largely.

After Uddhav Thackeray took over Shiv Sena, it joined hands with Congress and NCP and formed a grand alliance to form the government in Maharashtra. The party also took a secular stand by celebrating other festivals besides Hindu festivals and many Shiv Sena followers were shocked to see this.

As the elections for the Mumbai civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are approaching, many political experts predict that Shiv Sena might have a tough time in the polls given the Hanuman Chalisa row and other political developments in the state. We have to wait and see what happens.
