Shocking: Hunger Crisis In US Universities

It is indeed a shocking news. Many people treat America as the most developed nation and big brother in the world but the students in the American universities are starving of hunger as per the latest report. As the average weight of the students continues to decrease, a survey conducted on the reasons for the weight reduction. Shockingly, the reason is starving from hunger.. not dieting. As they don't have sufficient money to afford food, they are starving from hunger. They are eating only one time a day.
What is more alarming is the number of university students starving from hunger is increasing with each passing day. Going into the details, Temple University.. Wisconsin Hope Lab jointedly conducted a huge survey in 66 educational institutions in America. They have taken the opinions of 43,000 students in these institutions and they found out that 36% of the students are starving from hunger as they don't have enough money to buy food.
Apart from this, 36% of the students don't have a proper accommodation. They are staying in the houses of friends.. relatives. Some students don't even have that facility. They are roaming in the college campuses in the daytime and they are taking shelter in trains.. buses.. hospitals.. ambulances during the night time. Many people opine that starving from hunger is more serious when compared to the accommodation issue.
If we dig deep into the issue why the students are starving from hunger, the reason is the sky-high fee collected by the Universities.. colleges. Students are not getting enough scholarships, some students are working part-time but the amount they are earning is meager.
Reports say that a student has to spend $10,000 per year on his accommodation and food expenses and this amount is increasing with each and every year. Clothes and laundry expenses are extra to this amount. The expenses are increasing but they don't have any income sources which is forcing them to starve from hunger.
What is even more distressing is that most of these students are focusing on the sources of free food so that they can eat something. Some students revealed that they are unable to concentrate on the studies due to hunger. Ameria is a developed nation but these things give us a feeling that students in India are studying in better conditions in whatever facilities they have.
