Huzurabad bypolls by September-end?

Huzurabad bypoll, according to highly placed sources, is likely to be held by September -end. Sources say that the notification could be issued after August 16. They said that the election commission has to hold bye-elections to at least 110 seats across the country. Of them, some seats need to go to bypolls by September-end because of the constitutional obligations. Some others would have to go to polls between October and December.
The election commission reportedly has collected the statistics pertaining to the covid status in the states that are going to polls this year and the next year. At least six state assemblies will go to polls in the 2022. Given these, the election commission is likely to go in for elections in some constituencies before the end of September. Huzurabad would be one among them, sources said.
Sources said that the election commission has already collected details about the polling booths, status of the VVPATs, EVMs and the staff requirements for the Huzurabad assembly constituency. Details of the logistics have also been collected. All these indicate that there could be elections in Huzurabad before the end of September.
Eatala Rajender, who has been with the TRS for over 20 years, is now the BJP candidate and the ruling TRS is pulling all stops to defeat him in the bypoll. The bypoll is set to become a game-changer and the high-profile fight has now become the talk of the whole of Telangana.
