High-Level Committee On Casting Couch: HC

Telangana High Court directed the State Government to establish a High-Level Committee to deal with the Casting Couch allegations in the Telugu Film Industry.
Women Organisation Leader Sandhya Rani and few other Women Activists moved a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court seeking stringent action on those resorting to sexual exploitation and protection for the Working Women. Petitioners Counsel Vasudha Nagaraj complained Telangana Government hasn't constituted High-Level Committee inspite of numerous cases of sexual exploitation of women in the Film Industry.
Chief Justice TB Radhakrishnan and Justice A Rajasekhar Reddy felt the need for setting up a High-Level Panel comprising of Officials of Home Department, Women & Child Welfare Ministry, Members of Women Associations, Female Lawyers and Female Artistes from Telugu Film Industry. Government's Counsel Sanjeev Kumar sought time to file a counter.
