Medical workers and Police are the frontline workers of Covid-19. But now, they falling prey to the deadly virus. Hyderabad continued to witness a surge in COVID-19 cases.
In a development that alarmed officials, 140 police were tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours while the total cases are nearing 4000 in Maharashtra.
Coming to Telangana Police department, so far, 190 cases are reported from the Hyderabad police department. As many as 26 police officials are from Banjara Hills P.S. The incident comes as a shocker to the police department.
According to a bulletin from the Hyderabad police department, two DG level officers who work at DGP office have tested positive while three IPS officers went into self-isolation as they were found with COVID symptoms.
It's not just police officers. Several doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers have also tested positive for the coronavirus in Telangana.
