Hyderabad Police got ready to handle Drunk Drivers on the New Year eve. A special drunken drive check will be conducted from 10 PM on December 31st, 2017 to 5 AM on January 1st, 2018.
Those who were driving the vehicles upon consuming more than the permissible limit of alcohol will be detained immediately. Such vehicles would be seized on the spot. As many as 100 Teams have been deployed for this exercise and even video-recording is gonna be done during the check.
Last year, More than 7,500 people sent behind the bars for drunken driving. In 2015, The count wasn't more than 3,000.
