I Am Here Because Of Y.S.R's Blessings: Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Jan 2021 9:05 AM GMTAndhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, who has been at the loggerheads with the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy surprised everyone by his comments on former CM late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The SEC has credited YSR for his current stage and said that he is here because of YSR, who gave him the freedom to speak the truth during his tenure as the Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Nimmagadda has toured in Kadapa district on Saturday. Addressing the media, the State Election Commissioner(SEC) has recollected his fond memories with the late Chief Minister Y.S.R.
'My life took a great turn after getting the chance of working under Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. I have worked as Finance Secretary under Y.S.R. I have the blessings of him. I became an Election officer because of Raj Bhavan. Y.S.R has respect for the Constitution, and he gave the freedom of speech on crucial issues. I have never faced any issues while working under Y.S.R,' Nimmagadda told the reporters.
'I am a witness to some consequences. I am speaking with courage and truth. No force can or could stop him. The democracy came from the truth. Holding elections at the right time is good for the democracy. We will restrict the people who are putting pressure on winning the Panchayats anonymously. Y.S.R used to have great respect for the Constitution. The late leader had a secular outlook. The elections will be held according to the Constitution. The elections should be held on time,' he added.
His comments attracted the attention of the political circles and analysts as to why the SEC heaped praise on Y.S.R ahead of the first phase of the Panchayat elections. Probably, this is the first time, Nimmagadda spoke about Y.S.R.
These comments came from Nimmagadda at a time when the YSRCP leaders are targeting him over the Local Body elections. Some leaders termed him as an agent of Chandrababu Naidu, while Vijayasai Reddy said that Nimmagadda should be sent to Erragadda mental hospital.
