Jayalalithaa's Niece Deepa Jayakumar announced that she would enter politics on behalf of her aunt. 'I am the True Successor of Amma. Very soon, A new political party will be floated. Details of the party will be announced on 24th of February. Ready to fight for fulfilling the goals of My Aunt,' she announced.
When quizzed about the elevation of Sasikala Natarajan as CM of Tamil Nadu two months after the death of Jayalalithaa, Deepa commented: 'It's very unfortunate. Tamilians aren't accepting Sasikala's leadership'.
Deepa Jayakumar declared her decision to contest the upcoming by-election in Jayalalithaa's RK Nagar Constituency.
Regarding the clarification given by Apollo Doctors on Jayalalithaa's death, Deepa opined answers for some of the doubts expressed by people weren't given so far. She demanded Tamil Nadu Government to make the medical records of Jayalalithaa public.
