I Kg Gold in Undergarments

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) Customs Officials took a Vizag-based realtor M Suresh Kumar into custody after the Thai Aitways flight (TG329) from Bangkok landed in Hyderabad. Officials became suspicious as Mr. Kumar has travelled twice to Bangkok recently and on both occasions he returned to the city within two days. So, they checked him thoroughly to find out two gold bars pieces in his underwear.
During the interrogation, Suresh Kumar informed that he received the gold purchased in Australia from a person named Akbar in Bangkok and it was meant to handover to a person called Raja in RGIA airport in Hyderabad. However, the contact number of Raja remained unreachable.
Suresh Kumar is a Commerce graduate and currently into real estate in Vizag. A case has been registered against him by the Customs Officials.
In 2013 alone, Customs Officials have registered 22 such cases and seized 14.6 kg gold. Smugglers have been making a moolah by importing gold through illegal ways.
