I Request Telugu States to Focus on Film Awards: Chiranjeevi!

The Telugu film audiences and movie lovers have an undying love for the films. Not just Telugu films, audiences here love films of other languages as well. No wonder the other southern heroes enjoy a good market here. To boost the film industry and encourage talent, the government in the combined Andhra Pradesh started Nandi Awards.
However, the practice saw a sudden brake when the combined state was divided in 2014. With two states coming into effect, the Nandi Awards ceremony is not happening in either Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
After the state's formation, the Andhra Pradesh government conducted Nandi awards. However, it had landed up in a big controversy as many felt that other heroes were neglected with Nandamuri Balakrishna's film getting the majority of awards. Later no award function was held.
Veteran hero Megastar Chiranjeevi took part in the Telugu Film Journalist Association event the other day. Addressing the gathering, Chiranjeevi said that the awards function is not happening after the states were divided.
Chiranjeevi said that the Nandi Awards hold good respect and the main intention behind bringing such awards was to honor and encourage the talent in the film industry across the fields and requested both governments to look into it.
