The comments made by CM Chandrababu Naidu at the TDP Foundation Day Celebrations led to a serious debate in political circles and among public. 'We have a responsibility to develop Telugu States. I will pay back to the Telugu People by working hard relentlessly. We are going to play a key role in National politics and decide who will be Prime Minister in 2019. Why wouldn't Centre offer Special Status and fulfill promises of AP Reorganisation Act 2014? When it offered Special Status to 11 States, why not the benefits were extended to AP? If we demand Special Status, They offer Special Purpose Vehicle. We won't compromise on the rights of AP People,' he said.
Chandrababu Naidu stressed it's time people of AP come in support of Telugu Desam saying TDP can break even mountains if that happens. He asked party activists to promote the welfare programmes of TDP Govt.
If Chandrababu wants to decide who should be PM in 2019, He must be able to retain power in the state first and TDP should win at least as much MP seats it have currently. Whereas, The situation in AP isn't much in favour of the Ruling Party. Anti-Incumbency kept increasing in the past few years because of many factors. In addition, BJP and Jana Sena which helped TDP come to power in 2014 has distanced completely. None of the parties in the state will form alliance with TDP. Can Telugu Desam still win 2019 Elections?
