Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, who had a roller coaster ride for more than one year has completed his tenure. His tenure as SEC was completed on Wednesday.

To mark his last working day as SEC, Nimagadda Ramesh Kumar held a press briefing, where he walked down the memory lane and shared his experiences as the Election Commissioner.

Addressing the media, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said the Local body elections and civic body polls were held successfully and credited the Andhra Pradesh Government, Chief Secretary, and Director General of Police(DGP) for their support.

Talking about the gaps between the systems, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar called the gaps as unnecessary. The Local Body polls were conducted to a level of general elections. I have spoken to the new SEC Nilam Sawhney, he said.

The tussle started with the change of vote from Telangana to my own village in Andhra Pradesh. The issue of vote change is still pending and if it requires me to knock on the doors of the High Court to get the vote, I will not hesitate to do so, he said.

"The Election Commission is a constitutional system where constitution gives wide powers through 243K to SEC and the system should not interfere into the matters of Election Commission, " Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar told the reporters.
