Prestigious Award for Telangana Village

Ibrahimpur in Siddipet District has been making headlines for all the good reasons since the past couple of years. Two-years-ago, It was declared as the first 'Mosquito-Free' Village in the state. In December last year, This village went on to become South India's First Cashless Village. It was also declared Open Defecation Free long ago. And now, Prime Minister's Office has decided to confer this model village with Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Award for effectively organizing Gram Sabhas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be presenting the prestigious award at National Panchayat Raj Day celebrations in Lucknow on April 24th, 2017.
Irrigation Minister Harish Rao who represents Siddipet Assembly Constituency shared his joy over the honour. He maintained that this achievement wouldn't have been possible without the co-operation of the villagers.
