The final of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup between India and Australia has created a new record in terms of the fans with a stunning 86,174 fans coming to watch the match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Though the count was a few thousand short with what it was earlier anticipated the number still holds a record in terms of attendance.

Earlier the final match played between England and New Zealand in 2009 saw a whooping crowd of 12,717 where the English team has crushed the black caps to emerge victoriously.

“I never thought I’d be playing in front of a crowd like this,” said Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner. “It was amazing to have all those people before us,” she added.

Defending Champions Aussies has won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title for the record fifth time by crushing the Indian team by 85 runs in the final team at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Australian team which has opted to bat first has scored a huge 184 for four with both the openers Alyssa Healy (75) and Beth Mooney (78 not out) scoring half-centuries. The Aussie bowlers have put their efforts with Megan Schutt (4/18) and Jess Jonassen (3/20) to restrict the women in India.
