Idiots At Every Step: IAS Officer's viral post
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Aug 2015 5:18 AM GMTAn IAS Officer in Madhya Pradesh has expressed her displeasure on the hurdles she has faced while preventing sexual harassment.
Riju Bafna took to her Facebook page to vent out her anger - 'I can only pray that no woman is born in this country... Idiots are lined up at every step'. She, however, edited her remark later and explained 'I wrote that line in the spur of moment and I regret blaming the country for the fault of individuals'.
A week ago, Riju Bafna filed a sexual harassment case against a member of Madhya Pradesh's Human Rights Commission for allegedly sending her obscene messages. The culprit was sacked from the job immediately but Bafna's troubles didn't end there. When she went to the court for recording her statement before a Magistrate on Saturday, Bafna requested a lawyer standing next to her to leave the courtroom. Soon, the advocate yelled at her saying, 'How dare you suggest me to leave? I am an advocate here. You might be an officer in your office but not in the court".
Later, Bafna given a representation seeking action against the magistrate and the lawyer.
