The ruling TRS is feeling smug and happy in Telangana. The reason? The Congress now has a strong leader who can win a considerable number of votes. This is good for the TRS, because the anti-TRS votes are divided between both the Congress and the BJP.
In fact, the BJP was threatening the TRS after the victory in Dubbak and the GHMC. The youths got attracted to the BJP and it emerged as an alternative to the TRS. However, the party's rapid rise was hindered by the defeats in the graduates constituency and Nagarjunasagar elections. But it has regained its composure and is recharged with the arrival of Eatala Rajender. Now with the arrival of Revanth Reddy, the Congress will get energized. Its demoralized cadres will become active again. Revanth will surely attract young voters big time with his speeches. His fighting spirit too is extraordinary. Even after being arrested, he did not budge an inch from his anti-TRS position.This, in effect, would make it a three-cornered contest in Telangana. This also means that the anti-TRS votes would be divided among both the parties.
But some analysts feel that if the Congress manages to rally all the Reddys, it's presence and strength will grow exponentially. It would be able to take on the TRS more effectively. If this happens, the contest would be mainly between the TRS and the Congress with the BJP being relegated to the third position.
