Dasari Narayana Rao who served as Minister of State for Coal in UPA regime told the special Court on Tuesday that all decisions pertaining to allocation of coal blocks have been taken by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is also the Union Coal Minister at that point of time.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, Dasari said: "I'm just a Minister of State. All powers rests with Coal Minister and its Manmohan Singh who served as Coal Minister then".
The case is related to alleged irregularities in the allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block to Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Pvt Ltd (GSIPL) owned by Congress leader and Industrialist Naveen Jindal. CBI in its charge sheet mentioned that Dasari received bribe to the tune of Rs 2 crore to allocate these coal blocks.
