In a Boldmove, Jagan Hitsback At Centre on State Debts!
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Sep 2022 12:54 PM GMTWe have been hearing a lot of things about the financial position of Andhra Pradesh. The way the state government is implementing more and more welfare schemes without fearing anything, many corners about the future of the state are being raised. After the Sri Lanka crisis came to light, the criticism towards the Andhra Pradesh government increased.
Adding fuel to the attack of the opposition parties, the union government also warned Andhra Pradesh that the state is taking borrowing in big numbers and there is a need to stop this as far as the future of the state is concerned.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who kept silent all these days finally gathered the courage to hit back at the Centre. Talking about the financial situation of the state, the Chief Minister said all is well in this matter and there is nothing to worry about. Addressing the Assembly, Jagan made these comments. IN YCP's trademark attack, Jagan blamed Chandrababu Naidu for the debts during his tenure.
Strangely, Jagan went against the Centre and said the state has fewer debts compared to the Union Government. The Chief Minister drew a comparison between the debts taken by the state and central governments.
The state's debts increased by just 41.4 percent in the last three years. Talking about the Government of India, the debts went up by 43.8 percent. In comparison, we have fewer debts, the Chief Minister.
It is a bold move from the Chief Minister to target the Centre. Though the fight is not that harsh, it is very strange for Jagan to comment on the Centre.
