Veteran filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao has got the habit of making controversial remarks every time he graces a filmy event and he has done it yet again.

Dasari found fault with the double standards of state government when it comes to awards. "We can't separate the word 'Raju' from Alluri Sitaramaraju and the word 'Singh' from Bhagath Singh. Similarly, Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu! Initially, State Government used to present this award as Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu award and later changed it to Raghupathi Venkaiah Award. On the other hand, the 'Reddy' tag wasn't removed from BN Reddy award. Why this discrimination?," questioned the veteran.

"Actually, Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu should be treated on par with Dada Saheb Phalke. Even before Phalke, Mr. Naidu has made a movie using photos. Centre failed to honor the services of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu. Unfortunately, even the state government too came forward to acknowledge his invaluable contribution so lately," he added.

The biopic of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu, who is known to be the father of Telugu Cinema, is being made now. Actor Naresh is playing the title role in this movie which was titled as 'Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu'. The audio launch of this flick has been held in Hyderabad on Friday and Dasari graced the event as a chief guest.
