As a precautionary action TDP MPs in Guntur and Vijayawada and many party leaders were house arrested by the AP police to stop them to join the protests observed by the farmers and public of capital region opposing the idea to have three capitals.

TDP MP Galla Jayadev, who represents the Guntur Constituency has found fault with the cops and had a war of words with the police for house arresting them and stopping them from joining the protest.

While Galla and his followers attempted a failed try to get out of the house, the cops stopped them and locked the main gate.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani was also under house arrest as precautionary actions by the cops as they thought that the MP joining the protests will escalate the political temperature.

Demanding the Amaravati should be the state capital, not three capitals, the Political JAC has called for a blockade of National Highway.

In the year 2015, farmers of the Amaravati region have given 33,000 acres of land for the capital city during the regime of Chandrababu Naidu. Now the AP CM has opted to have three capitals creating havoc in the state.
