As much as Rs 7 crore in scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes was deposited in a Cab Driver's account in the State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) branch in Hyderabad. Soon after the deposit, The Cab Driver transferred the amount to a bullion merchant to buy gold.

According to the CCTV Footage, Two Persons have deposited the amount in the Cab Driver's account.

Cops arrested the Two Persons and came to know that they were working for the cab driver. Income Tax Officials took the Cab Driver into custody. However, They aren't able to receive satisfactory information regarding the source of the money. IT Sleuths were suspecting the role of bank officials as well as they haven't informed higher officials about the deposit and transfer of Rs 7 crore.

Cab Driver claims he wanted to pay tax on the amount deposited under PM's Gareeb Kalyan Yojana scheme. If that's the case, He should pay Rs 3.5 crore tax and will be able to use only 1.75 crore now. The remaining Rs 1.75 crore would be paid to him after four years without interest.
