India @78,14,682 Infections And 1,17,956 Casualities

India yet again reported over 50,000 fresh Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours. With this, the total pandemic infections in the country surpassed the mammoth 78 lakh mark.
The Union Health Ministry data showed, 53,370 fresh infections and 650 casualties were reported. The total infections and casualties rose to 78,14,682 and 1,17,956 respectively.
India reached the peak of the virus in September as nearly 90,000 cases were reported daily. Since then, fresh infections have started to decline in the country.
So far, a total of 70,16,046 patients have been recovered from the respiratory disease with a recovery rate of 89.78 percent. The active cases in India stood at 6,80,680.
Five states, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Delhi witnessed the highest number of fresh cases in 24 hours, the data said.
Telangana reported 1273 fresh infections in 24 hours, pushing the caseload to 2,30,274. While 2,09,035 patients recovered from the virus, the active cases stood at 19,937. So far, 1303 patients succumbed to the virus.
The caseload in Andhra Pradesh surpassed the 8 lakh mark after 3,765 fresh cases were reported on Friday. With 7,62,419patients beating the virus, active cases stood at 31,721.
Globally, a total of 42,463,052 patients were diagnosed with the pandemic. 31,417,538 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far, while 1,148,698 patients succumbed to the virus.
