India, the second worst-affected nation with Coronavirus outbreak witnessed over 72,000 fresh infections with 72,049 infections, which pushes the Country's caseload to 67,57,132.

According to the Union Health Ministery, a total of 82,203 patients were declared cured and discharged from the hospitals in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 57,44,693 patients have been recovered in the country.

The active cases in India came down to 9,07,883. This translates to nearly 13 percent of the total Coronavirus infections in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 986 patients have succumbed to respiratory disease, and the total fatalities in connection with the pandemic rose to 1,04,555.

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala are the top five worst-affected states in India due to the virus outbreak. These states account for over 60 percent of the total cases.

2,154 fresh infections were detected in Telangana in the past 24 hours, which pushes the total toll of the cases in the case to 2,04,748. Total fatalities in connection with the ongoing pandemic in the state rose to 1189.

Andhra Pradesh's caseload rose to 7,29,307, with as many as 5,795 patients catching the virus on Tuesday in the state. The virus claimed 6,052 lives so far.

The global count of Coronavirus infections has surpassed the 35.7 million, while over 1,048,700, patients have succumbed to the contagious disease, the Johns Hopkins University said.
