India's Costliest Expressway in AP
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Dec 2016 9:23 PM ISTAP CM Chandrababu Naidu is leaving no stone unturned for placing Amaravati on the World Map and role model to other states in the country. He now took up the responsibility to construct India's costliest expressway between Amaravati & Anantapur covering a distance of 590 km. This prestigious project is expected to cost Rs 27,635 crore.
The agenda would be to ensure that Amaravati-Anantapur Expressway facilitates commuters to ride at a speed of 120 kmph. For that to happen, Straight alignments is being preferred. Even natural habitats, places of religious and archaeological significance will be untouched. Tunnels will be constructed at hilly areas for smooth rides.
If this Expressway becomes a reality, The current distance between Amaravati and Anantapur (472 km) will be reduced by at least 101 km. While the distance between Amaravati & Kadapa will fall by 73 km, The stretch between Amaravati & Kurnool would be reduced by 28 km. Whereas, Travel Time for a speed limit of 60 kmph will decline by 120 min for Amaravati-Anantapur, 70 minutes for Amaravati-Kadapa and 40 minutes for Amaravati-Kurnool.
