As a piece of news to cheer about, India won the fifth gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics after Indian para-badminton player Krishna Nagar bagged a gold in the finals of men's singles (SH6) earlier today. The shuttler faced Hong Kong’s Chu Man Kai in the finals by 21-17, 16-21, 21-17. In total, India had won two Gold medals in Badminton. The other day, Pramod Bhagat bagged Gold in the SLE event.

Krishna Nagar had a positive start to the game in the finals by winning the first set by 21-17. Taking advantage of the good start, the Rajasthan-based athlete Krishna Nagar dominated the game and overpowered his opponent, and won the gold at the end.

Despite losing the second set by 16-21, Krishna Nagar made sure that his opponent wouldn't bank on his start. The final that lasted for 43 minutes went on to several twists. The momentum had shifted towards Indian player and Hong Kong player but Krishna Nagar emerged victorious in the end.

Banking on a few mistakes made by Nagar, the Hong Kong player had started with a 16-11 lead. But the Indian player had rectified his mistakes and made a comeback in the crucial final match. By winning back to back points, Nagar ended the first set by 21-17

When it was needed the most, Krishna Nagar opened all guns at his opponent in the finals. Having got the early lead, the Indian athlete won this set and the Gold in the final as well.
