India's total count of Coronavirus infections surpassed 73-lakh and reached 7,307,097, with as many as 67,988 fresh infections reported in the country in the past 24 hours.

The data issued by the Union Health Ministery said, over the past 24 hours, 680 patients have succumbed to the contagious disease, taking the total casualties to 1,11,266.

In a piece of good news, so far, a total of 63,83,442 patients have been recovered across the nation, while the active Coronavirus infections stood at 8,12,390.

Talking about the sample tests, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said, a total of 9,12,26,305 samples have been tested as of October 14, while 11,36,183 samples were tested on Wednesday alone.

Telangana witnessed 1,432 fresh Corona cases in 24 hours, which pushes the total caseload in the state to 2,17,670. So far, 1,249 patients have succumbed to the virus.

Fellow Telugu State Andhra Pradesh reported 3892 fresh cases taking the total infections in the state to 7,67,465. While 7,19,477 patients have recovered from the virus, the state has 41669 active cases.

Globally, 38,729,174 patients have been diagnosed with the virus so far. While 29,113,040 patients have recovered from the virus, 1,096,320 patients across the globe have succumbed to the virus.

United States(8,148,928), followed by India(7,307,097), Brazil(5,141,498) and Russia (1,340,409) are the worst-affected countries globally with the Covid-19 outbreak.
