India Crossed 17 Lakh Mark With 54,736 New Infections

In a shocking development, India's Coronavirus tally crossed 17 lakh mark with a record single-day increase of 54,736 cases positive cases and 853 deaths in the last 24 hours.
As of now, India's total coronavirus cases rose to 17,50,724 with 11,45,629 recoveries including 51,255 in past 24 hours. Also, the virus deaths have climbed to 37,364, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
This is the fourth consecutive day that coronavirus cases have increased by more than 50,000. At present, there are 5,67,730 active cases in the country. The recovery rate stood at 64.53% while the fatality rate at 2.15%.
The total Covid-19 samples tested up to 1st of August is 1,98,21,831 including 4,63,172 samples being tested yesterday.
