India among those 106 Nations

As per the PEW Report covering 199 Countries and Territories across the World, 106 Countries (53 percent) don't have official or preferred religion. Whereas, 43 Nations (22 percent) have a official state religion. While 40 Countries (20 percent) have a preferred religion, 10 Nations (5 percent) remained hostile to religious institutions.
None of the countries in the World have Hinduism as its official state religion Even India wasn't able to be one despite a powerful political party like BJP which advocates Hindutva ideology has been in the power. In 2015, Nepal was supposed to declare Hinduism as its state religion but the constitution amendment was turned down.
About 27 countries enshrine Islam as their official religion. As many as 13 nations including 9 European countries declared Christianity as the official state religion.
As per 2011 Census, 79.8 percent of Indian Population practices Hinduism. While 14.3 percent embrace Islam, 6 percent belong to other religions such as Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism and etc.,
