New Maternity Law - Big Threat For Women!

NDA Government proposed a new Maternity Law in the best interest of the working women in the organized sector. Maternity Leave will be increased from 12 weeks to 26 weeks as per this Law.
Shocking, A Survey revealed the new Maternity Law proposed by the Modi Government will have a negative impact on the Working Women. This Law is likely to make 1.1 million to 1.8 million women lose their jobs by the end of 2018-19 Financial Year.
As per TeamLease Services Survey, Smaller Businesses & Start-ups willn't be keen to hiring women if this law is implemented. The loss of jobs among women will touch 10-12 million-mark if all the sectors are taken into consideration.
A decade ago, Share of women in the workforce in India used to be 36 percent. This share has declined to 24 percent by 2016. The new maternity law might bring down women's share in workforce to an all-time low.
