India moved up to 39th Rank in Competitiveness
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Sept 2016 9:13 PM ISTAs per the latest study of World Economic Forum (WEF), India improved its ranking in Global Competitiveness Index for 2016-17 by 16 places to bag 39th Rank among 138 countries. The try-color nation stood at 55th Rank during 2015-16, 71st Rank during 2014-15, 60th Rank during 2013-14 and 59th Rank during 2012-13.
Basic Requirements: Shark improvement in Institutions, Infrastructure and Macroeconomic Environment. However, Health and Primary Education shows a downward trend.
Efficiency Enhancers: Positive outcome in Higher Education & Training, Goods Market Efficiency Labour Market Efficiency, Financial Market Development and Technical Readiness.
Even in areas such as Business Sophistication and Innovation, There is a welcome change.
WEF Report says, Reforms undertaken by NDA Government has yielded good results by opening gates for foreign investors and international trade. Still, India has to improve a lot in terms of necessary infrastructure, labour-market deficiencies and large-public enterprises.
