India now holds a global record of reporting highest cases for consecutive days!

The second wave of deadly Coronavirus has made India fear the virus spread. Despite being the second worst-hit nation in the world, India has been reporting more infections and deaths than the United States, the worst-affected nation.
India now holds a world record of reporting more than three lakh cases for nine days in a row. No other country has reported these many cases steadily, since the inception of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Maharashtra and national capital Delhi are severely hit by the virus outbreak. Delhi is now witnessing the fourth wave of the virus spread, while Maharashtra is likely to witness the third wave in July-August.
In the past 24 hours, India reported as many as 3,86,452 new Coronavirus infections. India witnessed the highest infections so far, taking the country's caseload to 1,87,62,976. India yet again recorded over 3,000 casualties with 3,498 patients breathing their last in the past 24 hours.'So far, a total of 208,330 people succumbed to the virus.
The active cases saw a rise by 85,414 cases, taking the total active cases in the country to 31,70,228. With 2,97,540 patients beating the virus, the total recoveries zoomed to 1,53,84,418. India's recovery rate, which stood at 97 percent at the beginning of the second wave has started coming down gradually, which now stood at 81.99 percent.
