India Records Another Grim Record Of Covid-19 Cases With Over 2.95 Lakh Cases

India, the second worst-hit country with a Covid-19 outbreak after the United States has once again reported a record single-day cases on April 21. More than 2.95 lakh cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
As per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, as many as 2,95,041 fresh infections were detected in the country in the past 24 hours, which takes the total toll of cases to more than 1.56 crore.
For the second consecutive day, India reported the highest single-day fatalities. In the past 24 hours, not less than 2,023 people succumbed to the pandemic. So far, a total of 1,82,553 people succumbed to the virus.
States like Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh account for a major share of cases in the country. These states are reporting the highest daily infections.
Several states in the country have announced the cancellation of exams for the students. Lockdown and restrictions are underway in states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
As part of the ongoing historic vaccination drive in the country, more than 29.9 lakh vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday alone, while a total of 13.01 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far.
