India Registers 26,624 Fresh Covid-19 Cases In 24 Hours

The Union Health Ministry's data said, India added not less than 26,624 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in 24 hours, which pushes the total toll of the Covid-19 caseload to 10,031,223.
On the other hand, 29,690 patients have beaten the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the total count of recoveries to 9,580,402. India has one of the highest recovery rates in the world. The active cases stood at 305,344.
With, 341 patients breathing their last battling the pandemic in the last 24 hours, the Coronavirus related fatalities in the country zoomed to 1,45,477 with a mortality rate of 1.5 percent.
Going by the data issued by the Union Health Ministry, Kerala and Maharashtra emerged as the major contributors to the country's Covid-19 caseload. While Karnataka stood at third place.
The Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) said, so far, a total of 16,11,98,195 patients have been tested for the Coronavirus in the country, while 11,07,681 samples were tested on Saturday alone.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan said the union government is planning to vaccinate nearly 30 crore people in India in the coming six to seven months.
