India registers Highest Spike in Covid-19 Infections in 2021 With 35,871 Infections

According to the information shared by the Union Health Ministry, India registered not less than 35,871 new Coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours which takes the total toll of infections to 11,474,605.
The steady rise in fresh infections in India had added fuel to the fears that the second wave of the novel Coronavirus is likely to take place in the country.
India had also witnessed a sharp rise in fresh fatalities. With 172 new pandemic-related fatalities, India recorded the highest fatalities in nearly two months. So far, 159,216 people breathed their last to the pandemic.
Maharashtra continues to be the severely affected state with the pandemic outbreak. The state contributed a major share of infections in the country with as many as 23,179 Covid-19 cases. The fresh infections are the highest in the state in this year so far.
To curb the infections, the Maharashtra government imposed lockdowns in a few regions, while Corona restrictions have been reimposed in the state as a preventive measure.
Telangana added 278 fresh pandemic infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total of cases to 3,02,047. With 111 new recoveries, the total recoveries zoomed to 2,98,120. 1662 patients lost their lives to Covid in the state, including three new casualties.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh registered 253 new infections in the past 24 hours and the state's caseload rose to 8,92,522. The casualties and recoveries related to the pandemic stood at 7,186 and 8,83,642 respectively.
