India registers less than 70,000 new cases for one more time
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Jun 2021 7:34 AM GMTIndia reported a slight decline in fresh Coronavirus cases on Saturday compared to Friday. While over 62,000 new cases were reported on Friday, 60,753 fresh infections were detected in the past 24 hours.
With the addition of the new cases, the total Covid infections in the country zoomed to 2,98,23,546. The only good thing is that a major share of the cases was recovered from the virus.
In the past 24 hours, 88,997 patients were declared cured taking the total recoveries count to 2.86 crore. The active cases fell to 7.6 lakh, the lowest since 74 days.
On the other hand, 1,647 people breathed their last battling the deadly virus, which pushes the fatality count triggered by the ongoing Corona crisis to 3,85,137.
As a piece of good news to India, for the 37th day in a row, India reported more recoveries of the respiratory disease than the single-day infections. The national recovery rate has gone up to 96.16%
The sample test numbers to detect the novel Coronavirus have rose to a whopping 38,92,07,637 so far, while 19,02,009 samples were tested on Friday alone, the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) said.
Coming to the vaccination part, a total of 27,23,88,783 beneficiaries across the country have been given vaccinations so far, which include 33,00,085 new vaccinations carried out in the period of 24 hours.
